One of the most stunning houses in Austin, this work of art was designed to hold a collection of fine art and the family who loves it. The contemporary home is situated on the banks of Lake Austin.
Construction included the main residence, barn, sport court, pool, art installation, entertainment facilities and boat dock with extensive renovations to a cottage and existing residential building.
A stunning outdoor art installation, the Turrell Skyspace, provides glowing views of the sky.
The finishes and appointments are museum quality; climate control systems were designed to meet standards established for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Spectacular landscaping includes a water feature requiring conversion of a wet weather creek into a constant level pond with water pumped upstream to create a constant flow of water in the stream, with waterfalls along the way. The structures employ concrete and steel structure with light gauge metal wall framing, stucco and polished stainless steel exterior finishes. Large expanses of frameless glass encompass most of the exterior. MEP system was integrated into a slim profile structure with limited above ceiling space. BIM was utilized extensively to ensure successful construction.
